Worker  and Lone Worker Protection

Employers have responsibilities for the health, safety and welfare at work of their employees and the health and safety of those affected by the work, eg visitors, such as contractors and self-employed people who employers may engage.

Employers have the same responsibility for lone workers as for other people that work for them. The UK Government guidance on lone working says that when risk assessment shows that it is not possible for the work to be done safely by a lone worker, arrangements for providing help or back-up should be put in place.”

Long range RFID technology can be used to monitor workers and lone workers in offices, factories and other geographically defined areas.

How it works

Employees, contactors or visitors are  provided with personalised RFID tag which transmit a unique ID identification identifies. The tags are in the form of a key fob with integrated panic button.

A network of small low cost RFID readers are installed in key areas of a building or defined site area. Readers  pick up transmissions from the tags as people move around the site.

Tag transmission and status is reported through software the reader network to system software.

The software provides real-time monitoring of  people. The system provides  a range of alerts such as unauthorised access or unscheduled departure for a particular zone

Additional protection of lone workers in provided by panic button on key fob tag.
